Sybil Still Cycling but what if two wheels aren't enough!!

Lovely to see Sybil featured in these photos of people cycling during lock-down. However, this highlights for us how many people couldn't cycle while we were closed because 2 wheels don't suit them. So many of our returning customers have told us how much they missed being able to cycle - yes, you could invest in an icetrike for your own use but it's more usual to come to us for a sidebyside! We have worked hard to make visiting Pedal Power as safe as possible and we are aiming to stay open right through the year, as we have done before, so that Pedal Power's wonderful variety of equipment is available and cycling really can include everyone. That was Sybil's intention when she set up the ch

Excellent report on Inclusive Cycling in the UK and we're mentioned!

Well worth a read! The lovely Jane has been interviewed many times now but says she is always happy to talk about Pedal Power and how important being able to cycle is for her health and well-being. No surprise they featured her photo! https://www.arup.com/perspectives/publications/research/section/cycling-for-everyone-a-guide-for-inclusive-cycling-in-cities-and-towns

Will you take up the Lottery cycling challenge?

The pandemic has encouraged many people to take up cycling, which not only boasts positive effects for people’s physical and mental health, but the choice of bike over car is also great news for our environment. The Lottery have created #TNLComFundCycle with this in mind, launching cycle routes across the UK to encourage people to get on their bike – whilst raising awareness of the difference National Lottery funding has made in their communities. We are very grateful to have just been awarded funding to support our work helping people recover from Covid 19 and build resilience ready for the autumn and winter., so naturally we would encourage everyone to get involved in cycling!! Whitchurch Senior Ladies Society Score Hole in One (as far as we're concerned!)

Okay, it's not the wittiest golfing reference but the sentiment is true. Whitchurch Golf Club's Senior Ladies Society spent time and much effort last year raising funds for Pedal Power. Of course, we were delighted when Betty called to say she had a donation to give us but attempts to bring the cheque were thwarted by you know what until last week, when Betty and Janet visited us in person (at a suitable distance).. You can't read it on the photo but we were knocked out by the amount - £2,000!!! What a fantastic amount to raise and couldn't come at a better time as, post lock-down, every single penny counts and this is a lots of pennies! It was wonderful that Betty and Janet did come to site

Hooray! We're open at the Bay!

We finally got there and, having overcome just a few hurdles on the way, we are now open for hiring at the Bay. It is not possible to book in advance at our Bay site, so it is a first come first served scenario. When busy, there may be some queues but please be patient.. We will be open Wed through Sunday, starting at 11 with last hire at 5. PLEASE BRING ID or we will not be able to hire to you.
