Accessible Membership

Our aim is to help everyone to cycle and so we off a variety of specialised cycles and adaptations. In order to ensure that we meet needs correctly it is necessary to make an appointment with our trained staff for an assessment to be carried out.

In order to become an Accessible Member the cyclist will need to be assessed to ensure that we can determine the cycle that most suits their needs. The Assessment must be carried out before committing to membership.

When the Assessment has been completed and a suitable Cycle (with any specific adaptations) identified then we can proceed to enrolling the cyclist as a member by filling in the Membership Application Form

If the cyclist needs support then the person attending the assessment should be the person who will normally support the cyclist and will receive the necessary training as part of the Assessment Process. Any other support workers who attend Pedal Power with the cycle must have received the same training which costs £20 per person.

Please note that where the cyclist will be attending while in the care of an organisation such as a school or care manager then the head-teacher or care manager should sign the application form and Terms and Conditions on behalf of the organisation.

General Membership

For only £12 for a child or £20 per adult or £30 per family, you can become a member of Pedal Power. This entitles you to concessionary hire rates, and means that you do not need to sign as many forms each time you want to hire our bikes.

You can join now by calling in at our Pontcanna branch or download a membership pack. We can also post the forms to you; please ring our Pontcanna office and leave your name and address.

Payment Types Accepted

We accept cash, card payments or cheques at our bike shed reception desk. We can also accept card payments by phone but you should ask for the transaction reference number and include it with the membership form so we can associate the correct payment with the form. Cheques should be made payable to 'Friends of Pedal Power Project Ltd' and can also be posted with completed application packs.

Who can be Assessed for Free

Children (18 and under) accompanied by their parents and not at times where the child would be in school. These are funded by Children in Need.
Adult residents of Cardiff who are receiving support from the Social Services' Learning Disability team. The Service has provided funding for this.
