In partnership with Scope, we're thrilled to be holding the first ever Disability Pride inclusive cycle ride in Cardiff on Saturday 20th July. Starting and finishing at Pedal Power in Pontcanna, the ride will be no more than 1 hour and the route (see below) has been designed to be accessible for most. It is free to take part and everyone is welcome to join - all ages and all abilities.

This is a social ride with the focus on fun, and at the end of the ride, there will be free refreshments served in our accessible cafe.

Important Information - please read before registering

  • Hired cycles will be reserved on a 'first come first served' basis so please register as soon as possible, particularly if you have a specific cycle in mind.

  • You can bring your own bike or hire one from us - we have a huge range of adaptive cycles to suit all needs.

  • If you are not a Pedal Power member, and are hiring a cycle from us, you will need to come in for a short assessment before the day of the ride. This will enable us to assess your needs and reserve a suitable cycle for you. The cost of the assessment will be £10. You will also need to bring photo ID with you on the day, and if hiring an e-bike, make a refundable deposit of £250.

  • ALL riders, including Pedal Power members, must register using our on-line form. Depending on your circumstances, this is what will happen after you have registered...

    • If using your own cycle, this is all you need to do other than arrive ready to ride at 10.45am on the day of the ride! 

    • If you are a Pedal Power member and hiring a cycle from us, this is all you need to do as once we have your registration form we will reserve your normal cycle for the ride. Please arrive at 10.30am on the day of the ride so we have time to settle everyone on to their cycles before the 11am start. 

    • If you are not a Pedal Power member and hiring a cycle from us, we will get in touch after we've received your registration form so that we can arrange for you to come in for your pre-ride assessment.

What to expect on the day...

​

  • We'll ride whatever the weather - just come prepared on the day!

  • We want to be conspicuous so wear Disability Pride colours! Also flags/banners that can safely be attached to your bike.

  • Ride is fully marshalled and will start and finish at Pedal Power HQ in Cardiff Caravan Park.

  • 11am start, then back to our cafe by midday for free refreshments

  • Please arrive in plenty of time so w can set off promptly at 11am

  • The route is designed to be accessible, is all off-road (through parks) and will be no more than 1 hour. It is a loop route (see below) so you can choose to do 1 or more of the loops depending on how you feel on the day!​
