Vodafone World of Difference Programme

On 22nd November, applications closer for Vodafone World of Difference 2011. This programme gives 500 people from across the UK the opportunity to work for a local charity of their choice and get paid for it.

Delivered by the Vodafone Foundation, the World of Difference programme not only allows winners to work in the charity sector, giving valuable time to often understaffed organisations, but it also offers them opportunity to develop new skills and gain valuable experience. This year, for the first time ever, the programme is open to both full and part-time placement entries, making it even easier for people to get involved.

Once the winners are selected, the Vodafone Foundation will pay their chosen charity a total of £2,500, with winners getting the balance when all tax and National Insurance has been paid. Charities will also receive £250 towards expenses associated with enrolling and employing the winner.

Gok Wan, The World of Difference Ambassador comments: “The Vodafone World of Difference programme can make a huge difference to the winners and charities involved. Giving smaller charities the gift of people power will really help make a difference.”

Charities and individuals wanting to take part in the Vodafone World of Difference programme should visit vodafone.co.uk/worldofdifference. The website also hosts a Charity Matchmaker tool for those who want to participate but don’t have a specific charity in mind.

Entries close on the 22nd November 2011, with placements starting in March 2012.

Volunteer Community

We are working to improve the way we recognise and reward our volunteers who are our lifeblood.

We will be holding a number of events during the year. The next will be our Staff and Volunteer Christmas Party on December 19.

Three of our volunteers have been invited to the Cardiff Volunteering Event at the National Museum on November 23. Will one of them be the Cardiff Volunteer of the year?
