Making cycling accessible to all

We run a cycle hire service open to the public 7 days a week, where you can hire a wide range of cycles. We have gents bikes, ladies bikes, kids bikes of all sizes, as well as a range of baby seats, buggies and tag along bikes.

Cycling is a great way to get out, have some fun and see the sights of Cardiff and South Wales. Come and explore the riverside Taff Trail or take a trip to the famous Cardiff Bay by bike.

For those looking for something a bit different we also have go carts, tandems, and pedal cars which can take up to six people available from our Cardiff Bay centre.

Pedal Power is also home to one of the best, if not the best, accessible cycling centres in the UK. We have an extensive range of specially adapted trikes and bikes designed for disabled adults and children.  This enables virtually anybody to enjoy cycling regardless of age or ability. We offer a full assessment service in order to find you the perfect cycle for your needs. Unfortunately, we cannot hire out the adapted cycles without the disabled person being assessed, nor are they available to the general public.

Spokes Café is also available for drinks and meals. It is open between 9.30 and 16.00 during the week and between 10.00 and 15.00 at weekends. If you wish to use  a Wi-Fi connection while having a coffee you will detect a network but unfortunately we can't make it available to the public for security & performance reasons.

We also offer a range of courses and one off sessions from total beginner to the advanced skills required to cycle safely in traffic.  We specialise in delivering cycle training courses to people who may feel that cycling presents them with a wider range of challenges than most. 

Our Fund-raising this year

Many thanks to everyone who has helped to raise money by doing the sponsored ride this year. We have raised over £7000 so far! If you do have any sponsorship money to bring in, please do so as quickly as possible to Nigel.

We also have an offer of matched funding. If we can raise £3000 then a well know local charity will match it with another £3000 enabling us to go ahead with a new project. Please support us by using the donation boxes in the Centre and at local businesses or by giving online through Justgiving.

As a first step towards this target our recent Coffee Morning raised £216.

Pedal Power has two branches in Cardiff where you can hire bikes from £5.00 for an hour to £15.00 for 24 hours with concessions for under-16s and those over 60.. Our Main Branch is in Pontcanna and open 7 days a week, and our Cardiff Bay Branch is open Wednesday to Sunday.

Special discounts are available to those holding an  Active Card which makes using Council run leisure facilities cheaper.

We are starting Guided Cycle tours at weekends from Sept. 5th. Details to follow.
