The Cardiff Bay Tour only takes about two hours but gives visitors a unique view of Cardiff that used only to be seen by the ships that came in from the Bristol Channel. The area around the Docks had a fearsome reputation and was known as Tiger Bay but today the tiger has been tamed. The tour goes right across the Barrage that has turned the once tidal bay into a freshwater lake and it then follows the Ely River for a distance before returning to the Cardiff side of the Bay and passing some of the iconic buildings. Before coal was king, Celtic Saints as well as Vikings all lived in this area in years gone by.
Cost: £1o per person—cash only please to be paid up front. This includes the cost of hiring a bike.
Duration of the tour: two to two and a half hours (depending on the wind !)
Tours can run on any day at a time to suit you if at least six people want to take it.
