General Cycle Hire

Explore Cardiff and beyond by bike, or take a trip down the famous Taff Trail. Choose from our selection of bikes and tandems. We also rent out kids bikes, tag-along cycles, trailer buggies and baby seats for kids.

All our bikes are maintained to a high standard and come equipped with a helmet, lock, pump and a survival pack including repair kit, tools and spare inner tube.

Bikes are available to the general public without reservation, subject to availability. However at busy periods (sunny summer weekends, Bank Holidays) we would advise ringing ahead on +44(0) 29 2039 0713 to reserve a bike from our Pontcanna HQ or +44(0) 7775 616411 for our Cardiff Bay Centre or email us on shop@cardiffpedalpower.org. Our opening hours vary through the year and the Bay Centre may be closed in periods of inclement weather.

Prices start at £5 for 1hr for an adult bike. You will need to produce valid ID (driving licence or passport is ideal but a bank card will suffice) and sign our Terms and Conditions of Hire.

We have a selection of pedal cars and go-karts at our Cardiff Bay Centre which enable a number of people to sit and pedal together. The go-karts enable children who haven't learnt to ride a bike to begin to experience the wonderful sense of freedom that cycling brings. The Illustration on the right shows a 2-seater pedal car.

DROP-OFF SERVICE

We are also developing a drop-off service for guests of city centre hotels. Reservations can be made via Reception and we will deliver the requisite bikes to the hotel and pick them up again at the end of the hire period (which is a minimum of 1 day.)
